Blot the affected area with a towel, as soon as the spill happens. Do not scrub the carpet. Continue blotting until the moisture clears up.
Apply a special spot remover for stains after testing it in a small inconspicuous area, or you can try a vinegar solution: two tablespoons- white vinegar with four cups- warm water.
